Mayo Clinic Health System invites applications for a Home Health and Hospice Medical Director. The Hospice Medical Director will provide strategic leadership for home health and hospice in MCHS-NWWI related to the design of patient-centered, compassionate end-of-life care delivery, promoting improved outcomes, increasing patient satisfaction and improved operational and financial results. Our goal is to help our patients live their best day, every day, and to support patients as they determine their priorities for their home care and their end of life care. This physician will be an advocate for quality and safety as well as a supporter of value based care. The Medical Director has overall responsibility for the medical direction of the care and treatment of patients served by the program’s care teams.
Qualified candidates are required to have completed medical education and relevant residency training. Work experience in internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, palliative medicine or other relevant field of medicine required. Work experience in a certified hospice program and administrative experience preferred. Physician licensure by the State of Wisconsin as a doctor of medicine or osteopathy required; board certification in hospice and palliative medicine preferred. Completion of the Hospice Medical Director Course within 3 years of hire is expected.
