Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Operational Services responsible for supporting the SMP-managed surgery centers and working in partnership with other SMP executive members to provide an exemplary service for our clients within the terms of the management agreement.
Job Specific Duties
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITES
Supports the day-to-day operations of SMP-managed surgery centers.
Works in partnership with the SMP-Operations Lead for each facility to support the surgery centers and service per the SMP management agreement for that specific facility.
Provides analytical reports to identify trends and opportunities at the center-level. Specifically, responsible for net revenue and case costing reports and ad hoc requests from the facilities.
Seeks cost-savings and revenue opportunities for SMP-managed surgery centers.
Works with center staff to identify existing and potential problems and help implement plan to alleviate the problems.
Serves as expert with Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)-specific software utilized by the ASC’s, which includes but is not limited to Amkai, HST Pathways, Advantx, SIS, and Epic.
Serve as the liaison between SMP revenue cycle team and center staff. Must be knowledgeable in revenue cycle operations, which includes activities that occur at the center all the way through final claim payment.
Must have working knowledge on ASC reimbursement and case costing to evaluate new procedures and help sites evaluate opportunities for new surgeons.
Responsible for supporting SMP-managed facilities in payer credentialing.
Responsible for supporting SMP-managed facilities with Medicare revalidation, new enrollment and required changes to Medicare.

Experience: 3-5 years’ experience managing a same-day surgery center.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
Software Expertise: Must be proficient in at least one (1) ASC-specific software platform with the ability to learn multiple other systems that is being used by SMP-managed facilities. Preference is to have experience with implementation of a new system, including Electronic Health Records.
