| The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) seeks a visionary and inspirational medical director to lead the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center (SSCBC), one of the most innovative and comprehensive breast centers in the country. This opportunity comes at a time of exciting growth and development for the breast center as it builds from an extremely strong foundation to even more exposure as a national leader in the prevention, early detection and treatment of patients with breast cancer. The medical director will be a transformational physician executive who can lead change in a matrixed and relationship-driven culture. S/he will have responsibility for leading, planning and implementing strategies to ensure growth, high quality of care, exceptional patient satisfaction and collaboration across multi-disciplinary care teams. Additionally, the medical director will collaborate with key constituencies throughout The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and all of Ohio State to expand clinical trials and to advance clinical, translational and basic research initiatives in breast cancer treatment. The medical director also plays a prominent external facing role in SSCBC development efforts and represents the organization in cancer, survivorship and media initiatives. Individuals with an MD or an MD/PhD, a record of outstanding achievement and leadership in breast cancer, and a strong commitment to innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration and education are encouraged to apply. Candidates must be board-certified and fellowship trained in Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, or Plastic Surgery and be eligible for Ohio medical licensure. Additionally, candidates should possess the vision and experience to promote communication and collaboration throughout the SSCBC, the OSUCCC – James, Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center and The Ohio State University, and to build consensus around strategic priorities for clinical care, academic research, scholarship, education and outreach in breast cancer services.
