Vice Chair, Obstetrics and Gynecology-New York Medical College And Regional Director of Perinatal Services/Chief of Maternal Fetal Medicine Westchester Medical Center, WMC Health Network Valhalla, New York Westchester Medical Center (WMC) announces an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished physician leader to serve as Vice Chair, OB/GYN and Section Chief Maternal Fetal Medicine/Regional Director of Perinatal Services. Reporting to the Chair of OB/GYN, the Vice Chair will lead the strategic vision while providing leadership for WMC Health Network OB/GYN program and work across the WMC Health system to promote a culture focused on clinical performance, patient satisfaction and program development while maintaining an active clinical practice and be eligible for an academic appointment with New York Medical College School of Medicine (NYMC) commensurate with experience. The Vice Chair will provide direction and coordination of administrative, clinical, education, and research endeavors to the department’s faculty members, newly developed Fetal Home, and the regional perinatal services. WMC, the system’s 650-bed flagship hospital and Level I trauma center, has one of the highest case-mix indexes in the nation, caring for the most severely ill or injured patients in the country. WMC averages over 1,100 deliveries per year and has a 49-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The Vice Chair will oversee the regional perinatal services at Good Samaritan Hospital and the North Campus in Kingston, which averages 3500 to 4000 births per year, lead the expansion of additional services across the health system, and network with community-based providers to elevate care to mothers and newborns in WMC Health Regional Perinatal Center. The Department of OB/GYN at NYMC is dedicated to undergraduate and graduate education and excellence in Women’s Health Care. The department supports general OB/GYN, maternal fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, and pediatric/adolescent gynecology. The department includes multiple clinical sites spanning the academic medical center and teaching hospitals for residency education programs. The successful candidate will be recognized as an outstanding leader with an excellent track record in clinical care, teaching and research. Candidates must demonstrate a strong vision for achieving excellence in maternal fetal medicine and an understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated working with regional clinical services within a premier health system. Proven success in the areas of quality, performance management, program development and expansion, and institutional collaboration within an academic health system is essential. Successful candidates will hold an MD, have completed an ACGME accredited residency in OB/GYN, and maintain current board certification in their area of specialty.
