Job Summary: The manager of the stem cell leads clinical laboratory section(s) and/or laboratory support functions within the Diagnostic Laboratories of the Medical Center. Provides direction for the supervisors of the individual laboratories and serves as a key resource to integrate clinical activities and optimize patient care. With the lab leadership team, defines clinical performance standards and quality measures, monitors actual performance and when necessary identifies problems and initiates corrective actions. Manages staff, operating budget and participates in capital budget.

Position Shift:
Hours: 8-5 Monday thru Friday, weekends as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Supervising, training, mentoring and developing assigned staff.
Ensuring regulation compliance is in conjunction with the Administrative Director, and that the lab meets all regulatory and accreditation standard including FACT, CAP, FDA and Joint Commission.
Ensuring the laboratory procedures are performed with strict adherence to SOPs. Reviewing procedure worksheets and ensuring QC procedures are performed and documented according to SOPs, reviews QC procedures.
Assigning all technologist daily workload and maintaining on-call schedule.
Supervises processing, cryopreservation and storage of hematopoietic progenitor cell (HPC). Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of supplies and reagents utilized in the laboratory.
Managing patient records and stem cell product inventories, preparing reports, assisting manager collecting data for quality indicator reports that are reviewed quarterly by the Laboratory Director and QA.
Monitors and coordinates programs and actions within areas of responsibility; has overall fiscal accountability for sections(s).
Develops work goals and objectives based on interpretation of organization plans and forecasts; plans to achieve goals or establish priorities through appropriate budgeting and program development.
Monitors payroll reports for overtime and FlexPTO as well as conducts performance appraisals.
