Description
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the Chief Physician Executive (CPE) at AdventHealth Medical Group at our Central Florida Division – South Region. At AHMG our primary customers are patients and families. Our partners are physicians, and our team members are all employees of AdventHealth.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The CPE provides strategic direction and executive physician leadership to the AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG), Central Florida Division (CFD) -South and connected care delivery network. In partnership with the Chief Executive Officer of AHMG CFD-South, the CPE co-creates the vision and designs the strategic physician initiatives to propel growth and transform quality across the continuum of care. Leads efforts to build and execute new care delivery models in collaboration with executives and CMOs across Acute Care Services, Integrated Health Services inclusive of Institutes, Ambulatory Products, Population Health and Post-Acute Care. Develops governance structures and success metrics which simultaneously drive results and develop physician leadership. The CPE serves as a community resource and manages matters related to physician group relations and current clinical issues. The CPE provides leadership to AHMG Departmental Triad Governance structure of Physician leader, Advanced Practice Providers (APP), and Vice President leaders, who prioritize and execute on operational tactics at the practice level driving excellence in clinical outcomes and creating multidisciplinary approaches to quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. Oversees physician engagement, alignment and physician supply and demand for practices. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, treating everyone with dignity.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads the strategic development, implementation, and maintenance of strong, comprehensive clinical programs that meet medical group growth initiatives, new delivery care models and the needs of patient populations in the community.
Ensures and fosters a high level of collaboration within a highly matrixed team environment to coordinate patient outcomes, exchange information, and resolve problems.
Affirmatively provides counsel to executive management team discussions and action plans related to service changes, improvements, new service/program offerings inclusive of all operational and strategy decisions.
Responsible for physician coaching and engagement strategies including physician recruitment and promoting programs which enhance physician satisfaction. Actively engaged in efforts to recruit physicians who will support the mission, vision, values, and purpose of AdventHealth.
Provides leadership, supervision, guidance, and development for physicians, articulating and demonstrating an expectation for continuous quality improvement, as well as continually supporting and exhibiting AdventHealth service standards.
Supports quality and safety initiatives of AdventHealth through education, standardization and implementation of system strategies.
Serve as the medical liaison between AHMG and the organization’s population health and value-based care/risk management functions with emphasis on operationalizing strategies that improve patient care across the continuum.
Collaborates with the AHMG physician practices, employed physicians, the leadership within AHMG and the executive leadership to ensure that appropriate physician group structure, policies and procedures are operational to ensure clinical performance.
Establishes and executes standards and policies to ensure clinical excellence while driving clinical quality medical care outcomes. Works collaboratively with senior management, patient care leaders, and managers as well as staff to accomplish goals.
Develops and leads physician and advanced practitioners’ growth, professional development and assessment of performance
Develops and leads in collaboration with executive leadership and physician teams strategies that optimize AHMG as a preferred employer of physician and advanced practitioners
Ensures adherence to physician practices on professionalism, quality and safety issues, and excessive or inappropriate utilization of resources.
Collaborates with medical staff leaders including department medical directors and elected medical staff leaders on patient safety issues.
Ensures medical staff development plans and programs are implemented and aligned with best practices. Promotes shared goals and teamwork in interactions with medical staff, clinical staff, and administration. Supports the clinical team and promotes individual growth among medical staff and clinical leaders.
Strategizes and drives process improvements focused on innovative care delivery designed to improve clinical services, outcomes, patient throughput, and patient safety.
Provides leadership and vision in the development of clinical guidelines and care pathways.
Chairs and establishes AHMG medical governance model, the Systems Operations Council (SOC). leading management triads of physician leaders, APP leaders, and operational VPs for all specialties driving excellence in clinical outcomes and creating multidisciplinary approaches to quality, safety, patient satisfaction, and relevant operational items affecting the previously mentioned.
Participates in the leadership of the Physician Executive Committee (PEC), which is the top Institute governance structure making decisions for the CFD as it relates to clinical pathways, standards of care, and strategic divisional growth.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSURE REQUIRED:
MD or DO degree
Experience with designing effective clinical best practice patterns to enhance quality outcomes
Experience in evaluating clinical outcomes
Understanding of healthcare information technology
Current, valid Florida license or licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure endorsement
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSURE PREFERRED:
MBA, MPH, or MHA degree
Minimum of 10 years of physician leadership experience within a medium to large multi-specialty physician group
Previous medical management experience
State of Florida board certified in an approved clinical specialty highly preferred
