JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Vice President, Real Estate, the Director, Real Estate Project Delivery & Integration will oversee the development and administration of major healthcare facilities & campus development projects. The role will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery process, including but not limited to project feasibility analysis, coordinating project delivery (including design and construction services procurement, contract negotiation, design management, cost estimating, budget management, scheduling, work coordination, quality control, and project closeout), and ensuring operational and transition planning prior to, during and after project turnover and occupancy. Will represent Tenet Health's best interest while establishing and maintaining positive and productive relationships amongst a collaborative project team. Will coordinate operational and building readiness, transition and occupancy sequencing, staff preparedness and move planning to create a complete roadmap for successful project turnover and opening. Provide oversight for schedule of medical equipment procurement, delivery, and installation. Develop & implement industry leading best practices and create metrics to effectively measure, track, and achieve project targets opening / operational targets. Develops and leads communications plan, providing weekly reports to market leadership, and monthly reporting to the corporate executive team.
FUNCTIONAL EXPECTATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
In conjunction with the Vice President, Real Estate, the Director, Real Estate Project Delivery & Integration will be responsible for integrating a matrix project team with project stakeholders for the development and delivery of major healthcare projects. Scope, Schedule, Budget, and Quality adherence are key drivers while maintaining a high-level of customer satisfaction from local operations and clinical staff.
Other responsibilities include the following:
In collaboration with Business Strategy develop overall project budget target
Support business case development for Tenet�s Capital Committee & Board of Directors meetings, working with Business Strategy and Project Management team
Draft & publish project charter
Work with project management team and internal stakeholders to develop a comprehensive schedule to include design & construction, FF&E procurement, medical licensing, facility start-up, project close-out, and operational performance after opening
Update & publish monthly project dashboards in coordination with project management team
Report bi-weekly to RE Leadership & monthly to the Tenet Executive Leadership Team
Authorize or reject, or take forward for higher level evaluation, proposed changes to cost or timescale beyond tolerance levels and all proposed changes to scope, checking for possible effects on the Business Case
Ensure Risks and Issues are being tracked and mitigated/resolved
Host weekly or bi-weekly project meeting with stakeholders
Authorize formal closure of the project
Hold a Post-Project Review to ensure benefits are realized
Develop a team structure that combines existing team members, new hires, , and other 3rd party firms to effectively administer all project operations
Ensure prudent decisions are made in the administration of the compliance program
Partner with the Corporate Development team in supporting the implementation of strategic transactions for the organization, including:
Lead the development of a Real Estate Major Projects Delivery playbook including templates and a tool kit, introduce the program and train the use with key business unit stakeholders. Monitor adherence through real estate committee leadership
Participate in the quarterly real estate status meetings with Executives, Market leadership and business unit leaders
Qualifications:
CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE, ATTRIBUTES AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Significant experience in project/program management for large scale healthcare facilities delivery, with at least 10 years of experience working with complex ground up hospital campus development
Ability to manage a complex cross functional team of high level performers focused on complex medical facilities delivery
Expert understanding of hospital operational planning, general design and construction processes, medical equipment integrations and procurement, land acquisition and entitlements, medical facility licensing & credentialling, facility start-up, move management and transition planning
Computer literate with strong Microsoft and project software suite skills
Demonstrated experience in the development of high performing nationally distributed teams
Experience managing dispute resolution with internal and external stakeholders
Strong management skills within a multifaceted and complex organization with a diverse set of perspectives
Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, healthcare operations, customer service standards, and equal opportunity employment
Outstanding organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload and successfully manage all financial activities
Strong analytical skills and demonstrated management and supervisory capabilities are required
A cooperative approach to problem solving with the capability of building consensus and support, working across functional lines to engage disparate resources to work together to achieve desired results
Experience in managing project budgets up to $250 million, supporting multiple stakeholders including Construction Management, Information Technology, Security, Medical Equipment, Operations Initiation, and other healthcare departments associated with major projects

Education/Certifications
A Bachelor�s degree in Business, Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, or a relevant field is required.
A Master�s degree in Business Administration is a plus.

NFPA codes and standards including Life Safety Code, Fire Alarm
Compensation
A competitive compensation program will be tailored to the selected candidate. Base salary will be supplemented by a performance bonus and comprehensive, well-rounded benefits program, which includes relocation assistance.
Travel
Approximately 50 percent.
