Summary:
Under the general direction of the Vice President of Account Management and Business Development, the Director will sell all PerformRx services and products. The Regional Sales Director (RSD) is responsible for the market development, implementation and execution of all sales strategies in an assigned market. The incumbent provides leadership toward the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. The Director develops monthly sales plans in collaboration with the Marketing Team to expand the customer base in targeted market segments. The RSD advises the Marketing Team on the type of materials needed for assigned markets and market segments, and works collaboratively with marketing staff to design material. The RSD engages subject-matter experts SMEs throughout the organization to develop contracts for new clients ensuring required contractual service standards are addressed.
Responsibilities:
Achieve annual sales quotas/targets associated with the assigned territory/region
Manage the performance and development of client base in assigned market and market segments
Establish/maintain internal relationships with operations, client services, legal, underwriting/finance, and executive management
Manage sales prospects proactively from target identification, through prospect development and the proposal development process, concluding with effective positioning and presentations to win the business
Successfully transition client from sales to account management; participate in obtaining and communicating written documents related to contracts
Prepare action plans for effective search of sales leads and prospects utilizing marketing tools and information technologyInitiate and coordinate the development of action plans to enter new geographic markets and to offer new products
Provide insight and support to the VP in development of the annual sales plan
Collaborate with the Training Department to provide input related to new products and services
Lead process to provide timely, accurate, and competitive pricing for all bids, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin
Maintain accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted
Assist in preparation of proposal responses and presentations. Support the RFP response process with relevant information gathered internally and externally.
Coordinate and lead proposal presentations, product demonstrations and finalist presentations as required (to inform new and prospective clients)
Control expenses to meet budget guidelines
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes, and ensure that they are followed at all times
Travel Requirement - Travel to various states within assigned territory is up to 50% annually
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
Requires a minimum of five (5) years current/recent Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) experience, to include PBM services, pricing, clinical and sales, along with a solid understanding of the impact of sales activities on operational functions and profitability
