The Business Intelligence Analyst 2 supports Northwest Permanente Analytics' vision, mission, and strategic goals by developing and delivering innovative analytic solutions that drive decision-making, action, and positive outcomes. The incumbent provides support for day-to-day operations including analysis, routine report maintenance and development, and production support. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting medium to large domain/functional areas and will work under the general direction of his/her manager and/or more senior consultant.
This is a hybrid position that is a blend of working both remotely and in office. Must reside in the Northwest Service Region (Oregon or Washington).

Major Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Serves as an analytic and technical subject-matter expert, maintaining knowledge within one or more complex areas of focus/domains
Develops a deep understanding of operational, clinical and/or administrative functions and processes within areas of focus
Develops expertise in the data landscape and cutting-edge technology, ready with the knowledge and skills to rapidly recommend and execute analytic solutions to business problems
Develops innovative analytical solutions to business problems and questions independently as an individual contributor
With direction, completes analyses and educates customers and leaders on trends, challenges, and opportunities that influence decision-making and action
With direction, works through the full life cycle of analytic and/or technical projects from conception to execution; requirement gathering, data exploration, extraction, cleansing, enrichment, visualization, validation, synthesis, and interpretation
Ensures quality, clarity, and applicability of deliverables and that they meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and/or department standards
Assists in communicating deliverables to customers, providing clear and concise explanation of data delivered, and ensures progress reporting throughout life cycle of project
Adopts and implements standard methodologies in data infrastructure, reporting and analysis
Partners with data engineers to build, enhance and maintain robust data assets including documenting business requirements and conducting UAT
Detects data quality issues, identifies root causes, implements fixes, and manages data audits to mitigate data challenges
Provide project coordination and/or administrative support for various business critical analysis and reporting needs
Support the development and maintenance of project plans, including project schedules and plans for resources, communications and risks
Assist with monitoring the execution of project tasks against the project plans
Assist with the tracking project progress and status reports, resources, issues, changes and risks
Coordinate project meetings
Maintain the overall project documentation library ensuring that all documentation is established, maintained and retained as necessary in project databases/folders
Assist with any manual or coordination activities associated with updating reports/dashboards
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Economics, Analytics, Public Health, or another applicable quantitative field or equivalent education and experience
Minimum Work Experience
Two (2) years of experience in data analytics

Experience working with relational databases, data extraction and manipulation language, and programming
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Education
Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Economics, Analytics, Public Health, or another applicable quantitative field
Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications
Two (2) years of data analytics experience within an integrated healthcare organization that includes hospitals, clinics, medical group practices, and a health plan
Experience with EPIC
Intermediate experience programming against HEDIS Technical Specifications
Specific and broad knowledge of HEDIS reporting, KPNW operations, KP applications, and KP HealthConnect, including Hyperspace, Clarity and Chronicles
