We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a VP, Design & Construction position located at our headquarters in Altamonte Springs, Florida.  

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Reporting to the SEO/CFO the Design & Construction (D&C) Leader is responsible for the oversight of the Center of Excellence (CoE) and is responsible for planning, aligning and monitoring of the D&C function. This role is also responsible for collaborating with other AdventHealth functions, defining future state for D&C that is aligned to AdventHealth’s vision and mission, maintaining an organizational strategy for D&C, and establishing processes. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Plan and align: 

• Deploy ongoing opportunity analysis processes, standards, and policies 

• Create and maintain an organizational design strategy and operating model 

• Maintain and run CoE functions 

• Enable process and controls: 

• Manage design of processes 

• Ensure security and controls standards are established and followed 

• Create policies and procedures that direct project management and execution 

• Define a change management process across D&C 

• Protect and monitor: 

• Develop action plans for issue identification and resolution 

• Enable supervision and compliance teams through tools and dashboards 

• Assess potential impacts of changes 

• Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans 

• Monitor the performance of D&C and define processes for ongoing refinement 

• Provide consolidated perspective for corporate leadership and governance committee 

• Play a proactive role to advocate changes at the state and federal level 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

• Future focused, foreseeing gaps and trends and influences the direction of the organization  

• Strong communication skills and leadership experience with proven track record in building relationships, working with cross-functional collaborative teams. 

EDUCATION, LICENSURE, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field 

• Master’s degree in Engineering or MBA or equivalent knowledge, skills, and working experience in lieu of the master’s degree 

• 12-15 years of extensive experience in design and construction management, delivering complex projects, including, but not limited to: planning and prioritizing capital, developing corporate standards, vendor management of service providers, and creative contract structures with project managers and contractors to drive cost, schedule and quality.  

• Experience with multimillion dollar projects in regional or national hospital systems or healthcare organizations with large portfolios 

Education, Licensure, Experience Preferred: 

• Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) or Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM)
