Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education and Designated Institutional Official
Rochester, NY - The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) is searching for their next Senior Associate Dean (SAD) for Graduate Medical Education (GME) and Designated Institutional Official (DIO). This opportunity will allow for a physician leader with a passion for medical education to advance residency and fellowship training programs, oversee programmatic quality and ensure the well-being of trainees of one of the most prominent medical centers in the nation.
Reporting to the URMC CEO and Dean of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, the SAD-DIO will guide the Office of GME by leading and serving as an advocate for clinical postgraduate education. They will build upon a strong foundation and expand administrative and clinical partnerships within URMC while carrying on the legacy of excellence in GME of one of the largest programs in the country. The SAD-DIO will be dedicated to the delivery of the highest quality training programs and will establish consistent standards in accordance with accrediting organizations, driven by the desire to provide a supportive, inclusive, best-in-class clinical training environment.
The successful candidate will be an experienced academic leader in GME with a reputation as an outstanding trainee advocate, collaborator, and educator. They will have a passion for advancing innovative training and providing an environment conducive to supporting the academic mission of a prestigious school of medicine & dentistry. The next SAD-DIO will be an individual who is committed to providing superior programs, and a desire to improve systems and processes to reach URMC clinical training goals. They will lead with a personal approach, demonstrating mentoring and leadership to assistant DIOs, program directors and trainees alike. Candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O. degree.
