The incumbent provides leadership to the work of Processing and Phlebotomy staff with 24/7 operations, based in the Core Laboratory and dispersed amongst the floors. Independent judgment in decision-making and leadership are required to coordinate a wide variety of laboratory operations. This front line position provides leadership to the work of up to 40 staff in the Core Laboratory. These positions provide coverage 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. This position works closely with Laboratories Northwest departments, Client Services, ComLab staff, and all clinical departments at TG and MB. Work situations require leadership skills with the ability to evaluate work through reports, verbal presentations, and daily observation of assigned tasks and responsibilities. Internal contacts are basically within the work group, but also include laboratory staff, section managers, supervisors and other healthcare providers. External contacts include physicians, nurses, clinical staff, nursing leadership, and outside organizations and labs.Minimum Requirements:2 - 3 years recent supervisory experienceRecent experience in a high-volume laboratory specimen management departmentRecent phlebotomy experience in a high-volume acute care facility Experience with customer service training a plusEducation/Licenses/Certifications:MLT(ASCP), MT(ASCP), or PBT(ASCP) preferredBS degree with minimum of 3 years relevant laboratory experience required.
