Clinicas de Salud del Pueblo, Inc., DBA Innercare is a Federally Qualified Health Center with 54 years of experience serving the low-income, homeless, and migrant/seasonal farmworker populations of Imperial and Riverside Counties in southern California. The mission of Innercare is to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve by providing access to excellent care, available to all, which aligns with the Desert Healthcare District’s mission to achieve optimal health at all stages of life for all District residents.
Established in 1970, Innercare is a private, non-profit corporation operating ten health care centers, five dental clinics, and three Women, Infant and Children Programs in Imperial and Riverside Counties; a service area covering 30 zip codes of rural and urban communities with a combined population of 679,857. Innercare is one of the few Federally Qualified Health Centers in the Coachella Valley, and the only Federally Qualified Health Center in Imperial County; its health centers serve Medically Underserved Areas and Health Professional Shortage Areas where access to affordable care remains a significant challenge. Innercare’s expertise lies i...n their ability to serve and treat a large Latino, primarily monolingual, largely uninsured population; economically disadvantaged adults and youth; migrant and seasonal farm workers; and a population with high unemployment. As a Migrant Health Center, Innercare strives to meet the complex needs of low-income, uninsured populations with culturally and linguistically appropriate services, all with a focus on patient-centered care. Using a patient-centered, culturally appropriate, and team-based approach model coordinates patient care across the health system.
